Sinkhole Repair Using Trenchless Stormwater Infrastructure Rehabilitation

A developing sinkhole at a commercial car wash wasn’t caused by the pavement—it was caused by a failing underground stormwater connection.

After investigating the site, our Field Services team traced the problem to a deteriorated pipe-to-manhole connection that allowed groundwater infiltration and soil migration, creating an underground void beneath the parking lot. Rather than simply filling the sinkhole, we repaired the source of the failure using polyurethane chemical grout injection, rebuilt the subsurface foundation, and restored the pavement.

This project demonstrates how proper diagnosis and trenchless infrastructure rehabilitation can eliminate sinkholes by addressing the underlying cause instead of treating the symptom.
