Training In Houston
At HydraTech, not every trip is about installing seals. Sometimes it’s about making sure others can do it just as effectively.
A few months ago, I made a 16-hour drive to Houston, Texas, to lead an in-pipe installation training for a partner team. The goal was simple: walk through the HydraTite® system, explain how it works, and guide the crew through a real installation so they could confidently handle it themselves in the future.
Before entering the pipe, the team reviewed the fundamentals: how the rubber sleeve functions, how the retaining bands are assembled, and how everything works together to create a watertight seal. Once inside, the focus shifted from explanation to execution. Rather than taking over, I stepped back and let the crew lead the installation, stepping in only when needed to answer questions or correct small details like shim placement and band alignment.
The result? A successful install completed in under an hour, even with a team that was new to the process.
Trips like this come with mountain views and sightseeing, but training ensures that HydraTite® is installed correctly no matter where the project is, helping maintain the performance and reliability that infrastructure owners depend on.
Sometimes the job isn’t just fixing the pipe. It’s making sure
