Project Update

HydraTech has been working on miles of cast-iron pipes below Buffalo New York for about a year now. The first two phases of the project are complete with approximately 350 seals being installed during these phases. The third and final stage will start soon, which is expected to include the installation of 160 seals.

The aging pipes have joints experiencing separation and offset, with ranging severity. Some joints are separated as little as half an inch and others are separated by about three inches. HydraTech assesses each of the joints and seals them with appropriately sized HydraTite. In joints that are further separated backing plates are utilized. These backing plates are also used to close off unused branches in the pipe.
