HydraTech’s engineered solution for significant water flow and erosion issues is the HydraTite seal. HydraTite is installed at the culvert or pipe’s joints for a long-term solution to leaking separated joints. Below are some examples of projects that utilized HydraTite to eliminate infiltration.
A twin 66” reinforced concrete pipe, functioning as a culvert below a roadway had degraded with age and the joints were experiencing separation and several had become offset. The invert was cleaned out, concrete patchwork was used to smooth out portions of the internal surface of the culvert, and finally, HydraTite was installed over 28 joints. This repair brought new life to the culvert and will help protect the traveling public from the formation of sinkholes.
A large-diameter supply aqueduct located under a historic reservoir was inspected and infiltration was documented at many of the pipe joints. The 117.5″ in diameter HydraTite seals enable a trenchless repair at a fraction of the cost of alternatives. The HydraTite seal proved to be an economical in situ repair solution that made the operation of the aqueduct more cost-effective.
Two culverts were showing serious signs of degradation, especially at the joints. In only 3 days, 33 seals were installed, 17 of the standard-wide seals in the first 60” culvert and 1 of the double-wide, 4 of the extra-wide, and 11 of the standard-wide seals in the 72” culvert. The wider seals were utilized to cover larger separations formed by the missing portions of the pipe joint lip.
Filler had begun falling out of the expansion joint that was part of an ocean outfall system. An 18’ by 30’ extra-wide box HydraTite was manufactured for the job. Anchor plates, EPDM corner forms, wedge anchors, concrete, and a 2” by 2” neoprene pad were used together with the HydraTite seal to ensure the joint was fully restored. The repair was on schedule, providing a long-term repair that the previous filler could not.

Can HydraTite Be Installed In A Pipe With An Active Flow Of Water?
Absolutely! Although water can make installation a longer process, HydraTite has been installed completely underwater. It is frequently installed in pipes that have some active flow.
Is HydraTite An Effective Solution For Irregular Shaped-Pipe?
HydraTite is frequently used in box culverts, elliptical pipes, and other less common shapes. Our engineer is able to customize this seal based on the specification you provide. Additional materials can be shipped with the HydraTite seal allowing for installation in corrugated pipes as well.
Why Utilize HydraTite Over Grout?
HydraTite is a long-term repair that will be more cost-effective as the grout will require replacement every 3-5 years. HydraTite offers a lifetime repair that will withstand the forces of nature.

Testimonials
The HydraTite seals were delivered on time as promised. Our crew learned quickly how to install the seals with the onsite training provided by HydraTech. This led to a successful project.
“These bands will provide many years of service, keeping material from falling into the culvert as well as keeping water in the culvert.” “Thanks to everyone who helped with the installation.” “Also Rob, the technician was great to work with and taught us well.” (Various representative quotes from a longer email)
First let me commend HydraTech’s Work. We have had no further leakage since your repair. The tunnel was inspected last year and no issues were found.
